Tom Weichel was born and raised in Southwest Oklahoma where his family was involved in farming and ranching. Tom was raised in a Christian home and regularly attended church making a profession of faith at age 14. While Tom was raised in a ranching environment, Tom’s Dad (Sr) had worked for NASA in his early years and this prompted Tom (Jr) to follow in his father’s footsteps and he obtained a B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Tom married Terri and they moved to Houston where Tom worked for Texas Instruments as a process engineer. While in Houston, Tom embarked on a bible reading effort which led him to become deeply aware of his spiritual condition and while having made that profession at age 14, Tom realized a need for a complete surrender to Christ as not only Savior but Lord of his life. Tom and Terri moved back to the suburbs of Dallas where Tom spent 30 years in various technical and management roles at TI.
Tom’s further Bible study led him to conviction about believer’s baptism of which he then moved his family to a new congregation, and followed in obedience to scriptures command. Tom served that body in various roles including Deacon and Bible Study teacher. Tom and Terri have both been involved in Bible Study Fellowship, as well as mission trips, and served together in various local ministries. He and Terri served that body for 19 years before feeling God’s call to Christ Redeemer Church in 2019.
They have four children John (married to Maddie with grandbaby, Joyce), Emily Logan (married to Schuyler), Lizzie (attending law school), and Annie (pursuing Nursing).
They love anything that involves their family, sports activities, playing game and traveling together. Terri currently teaches at McKinney Christian Academy, and Tom is in partnership with his family in Oklahoma while also working with various entrepreneurial activities and investments. They love traveling and to be involved in their kids lives.
