Andy and his family are raising support to plant an English-speaking church in Ankara, Turkey. After serving more than 20 years as an elder at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., Andy felt called to gather a core of like-minded believers to establish a church in the capitol city of Turkey, which is a 99.9% Muslim nation.
Turkey is considered the least evangelized nation on earth. In Ankara, believers likely number in the hundreds. Given the large number of English-speaking expats and the more than 45,000 students enrolled in English-speaking universities there, Ankara is a prime location to plant an English-speaking church.
Andy longs to demonstrate that a vibrant church is the very center of God's disciple-making strategy everywhere. Far from distracting from a local-language ministry, a solid, English-language church can become a platform for ministry into the wider culture.
