Kendrick-Family-MissionsDenise and her husband Bruce served as foster parents for over a decade before founding the Embrace Texas ministry in McKinney, TX in 2007 to help the Church reclaim the care of orphans in our community. The mission of the organization is to find a stable, loving home for every child. The ministry surrounds foster, adoptive and kinship care families with the support and resources they need to care for the abused, neglected and orphaned children in their homes.

Through the Second Story and Portraits of Hope initiatives, Embrace works to find adoptive families for children lingering in foster care. The ministry also serves teens who “age-out” of foster care without an adoptive family. Embrace is a small non-profit having a big impact on the lives of vulnerable children in North Texas. It is only through the hard work of partner congregations and volunteers that such significant change in the lives of children and families is possible. Embrace is challenging the Body of Christ to rise up and serve “The Fatherless” in their communities, while providing the resources, connections and opportunities for congregations to serve in programs and services that truly change and save lives.

Denise serves as the Executive Director of Embrace and is a mother to nine children by birth and adoption and grandmother of 3. In her free time she enjoys camping with her family, true crime podcasts and curling up with a good book.
